Pravachol® (pravastatin sodium) tablets

Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sankyo had a more than 40-year history of successfully growing together around the world, behind such cardiovascular products as captopril. So the 1985 agreement to collaborate around Sankyo's cholesterol-lowering drug Pravachol® (pravastatin sodium) was a logical next step.

Sankyo launched the product in Japan in 1989. Bristol-Myers Squibb launched in Europe and the U.S. shortly thereafter. And Pravachol became a global blockbuster, with sales of close to $4 billion per year. We are looking forward to celebrating 50 years of creating and sharing value together.
